🌿 A Day at Hip Poppy: Early Starts, New Beginnings & Growing Spaces

There’s something quietly magical about being up before the world fully wakes.
This week at Hip Poppy started before 6am — coffee in hand, dressed and ready, waiting for a flower delivery while the studio slowly filled with morning light. These early starts are one of my favourite parts of running a florist business. It’s the moment before creativity begins, when everything feels full of possibility.
Our workshop is finally coming to life, and seeing it evolve into a real working creative space has been incredibly special.
The Hip Poppy Workshop
The studio isn’t just where flowers are arranged — it’s becoming a space for people to slow down, learn something new, and reconnect with creativity.
I’ll be offering:
• One-to-one floristry sessions — perfect for beginners, flower lovers, or anyone wanting dedicated creative time.
• Small group workshops — relaxed, welcoming sessions designed to be enjoyable rather than intimidating.
• Seasonal classes throughout the year, from hand-tied bouquets to wreath making and floral styling.
The aim has always been simple: flowers should feel accessible, calming, and joyful.
Whether you’re coming to learn a skill, spend time with friends, or just switch off from everyday life, the workshop is designed to feel warm and personal — very much the heart of Hip Poppy.
Bringing Plants Into Local Spaces
Alongside the studio work, we’ve also been busy installing plants at The Blackberry Jack, helping transform their space into something more botanical and inviting.
Plant installations are one of my favourite projects because they completely change how a space feels. Adding greenery softens interiors, improves atmosphere, and creates a natural sense of calm for customers and staff alike.
Each installation is designed specifically for the space — considering light, maintenance, and overall style — so the plants don’t just look good on day one, but continue thriving long term.
Growing Slowly, Growing Well
Hip Poppy has always been about growing sustainably — not just with flowers and plants, but as a business too.
From early morning deliveries to workshop planning and local installations, every step is about building something meaningful within the community.
Thank you for being part of the journey so far. 🌿
If you’d like to join a workshop, book a one-to-one session, or talk about plant styling for your business, I’d love to hear from you.
